Mark Wastell has been assembling groups of musicians under the name "The Seen" since 2002. Always electro-acoustic in instrumental make-up and never with a fixed personnel, only the name is permanent. This latest incarnation adds Butcher, Drew, McHugh and Dickson to the group that delivered a mesmerising concert at Cafe Oto back in February.

The Seen mixes musical styles, backgrounds and experiences to investigate different involvements in music making.

It includes Phil Durrant (maschine), Matt Davis (trumpet), Philip Julian (electronics), Dominic Lash (contrabass), Paul Abbott (electronics) and Mark Wastell (tam tam, scrutti box).

Nancy Ruffer specialises in performing contemporary music. She has performed and recorded for the BBC, and in festivals and concert halls throughout the world. She is an Associate of The Royal Academy of Music.

Ashley John Long is a muli-intrumentalist and composer. Work includes Keith Tippett quartet, Chamber Orchestra of Wales, Millenium Ensemble, the Heavy Quartet.
